TBall Division | Upper Providence Little League

TBall Division

Tee Ball is for boys and girls 4-5 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. Its primary goals are for children to have fun, to instruct them in the fundamentals of baseball, and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork.

Team composition and Tee Ball rules

No live pitching is permitted in this division. Players hit a ball off a batting tee, and every player bats in every inning. There are no strikeouts. The leadoff hitter changes every inning. Rules of the game may vary to accommodate the need for teaching.

Weather permitting, practices begin in March. Each team is assigned a practice time during the week or on Saturdays. Teams practice one time per week until games begin. Opening Day varies each season but is generally in early April.

Game schedules vary each week so that each team does not play on the same weekday or the same time on Saturday. Occasionally, rainouts may be rescheduled on a Sunday afternoon.

We will do our best to accommodate special requests for carpooling or if your child has an evening when he or she is not able to attend. If your child has a commitment on a specific evening, just make a note in the comment section of your registration form; we will try to place him or her on a team that does not practice on that evening. Once games begin, it's okay if your child misses a game or two.

Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved with this introductory level of Little League. After completing a Little League volunteer application and passing a required national background check, parents may become involved in practices, and be eligible as coaches, managers, umpires, local league board members, and other volunteer positions within the league.
